Sky Bet's Andrew Wootton brings us the latest from the firm's trading room where there's been a big gamble at Gowran.

JP McManus could enjoy further big-race success

2.45 Lingfield - Paparetto 4/1 from 5/1

The last twice Robert Mills' Paperetto has just been denied by two well-handicapped sorts, the latest of these won decisively yesterday despite a 3lb rise in the weights. Taking into account his capable rider's claim, he carries just 8st 4lbs and receives weight from every rival today. This five-year-old is up 2lb for that second and with his trainer sending out two winners from his last three runners today could well be the day for him.

3.15 Lingfield - King George River 9/4 from 11/4

Formerly in the care of Aidan O'Brien, King George River makes his UK debut for Alan Bailey in a competitive looking event that could well throw up some useful sorts. This three-year-old son of Danehill Dancer had three runs in Ireland, where he won a maiden in good style before disappointing when upped in grade despite being sent off 5/4 favourite for a Listed race. His opening handicap mark of 82 looks interesting and he falls into the 'could be anything' category.

3.25 Gowran Park - Outlaw Pete 5/1 from 7/1

A decisive winner of the Cross Country chase at Cheltenham's December Festival, Outlaw Pete bids to continue his good form in the typically fiercely competitive Thyestes Chase. The JP McManus-owned nine-year-old would have gone very close to landing the Cork National in November but for running out at the last, so he clearly has a liking for these competitive events, and this could be another landmark success for his small yard.
