Zing Wing has failed to figure off higher marks since scoring over C&D in September and Glastonberry was still beaten nearly four lengths despite finishing second here last time, though she did have Chambles behind. AMOSITE doesn't win very often but was only beaten a head at Lingfield last month and Patrick Hills' claim could give her the edge in this. Climaxfortackle has been running well over 6f though both wins to date have come over a mile while Big Sylv won a lower grade handicap last month and came up short last time.
Plenty with claims in this including Al's Memory who was all out to land a double over 7f at Lingfield last time. Avertis has also won his last two starts at the same track but over a mile and Toga Tiger hasn't stopped improving yet judged on his latest win at Wolverhampton. Storm Runner continues to run well and Haftohaf had Red Somerset behind when third over C&D last time. Light From Mars is yet another to consider but a tentative vote goes the way of ANGELIC UPSTART, who has been running well without success in tougher handicaps than this and has a first-time visor and a 7lb claimer helping his cause today.
Headgear is applied to Fluctuate on his comeback run and the betting could provide the best clue to the chances of the Wolverhampton maiden winner. SPIFER has the more recent form with a recent third to the progressive Alfred Hutchinson looking good enough to land this prize. A line through the latter gives dual Lingfield winner Aquilonius every chance and he has to come into the reckoning but Kames Park and Noble Silk will need to dig a bit deeper to get involved in this company.
Welsh Inlet has decent claims back at this track only 3lb higher than when scoring over C&D last month. Michael's Nook posted a much better effort at Wolverhampton last time and is another leading contender but WEST LEAKE is just preferred. He went very close over track and trip recently and finally looks set to bring a losing streak to an end off his current mark. Spinning Ridge and Mambo Spirit have both tumbled down the weights without showing any benefit so far and Jackie Love looks high enough in the handicap now.
