Clerk of the course Fergus Cameron held an initial inspection at 8am before calling a further check for 10am.
However, the second inspection showed the track to be unraceable after two inches of snow fell.
"Conditions have deteriorated quite dramatically in the last couple of hours," Cameron told At The Races. "We had grounds for optimism when we inspected at 8am but the snow is now falling quicker than we can work it and trainers who are coming in from the Lambourn area are starting to phone in and say that they are struggling.
"We are due to race again on Monday. Our plan is that the moment that conditions start improving we will start working the track again. There is further snow forecast but it is due to improve after today so we're optimistic."
