With temperatures having dipped to as low as minus 4.5C overnight, the forecast heading into the weekend is similarly bleak.

Clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright said: "We had a hard night of frost last night and we've another one coming in, so we need to take stock of our circumstances.
"It's nip and tuck whether it was raceable today.
"If it's like that after one night we need to evaluate what it's like in the morning."
