Franny Norton rides well-backed West Side at Kempton

1.20 Newbury Open Hearted - 9/2 from 15/2

Open Hearted has been supported to upset the front two in the market in an intriguing novice chase. A winner of four of his six starts over hurdles last season, the gelding has reportedly done well over the summer, but he will need to improve if he is to making winning chase debut.

4.15 Kempton - West Side 5/1 from 8/1

Good support arrived for the Mick Quinn-trained West Side in the opener at Kempton Park. Formerly with Jeremy Noseda, this well-bred sort has shown glimpses of ability, and from a nice draw he should run a good race down in grade with the headgear back on.

6.15 Kempton - Wildomar - 3/1 from 4/1

Second last time out off today's mark of 80, John Ryan's four-year-old gelding has been backed to go one better in an interesting handicap. Twice a winner from seven starts at the track, if the son of Kyllachy handles the step up in trip he should take the beating against mostly inconsistent rivals.
