Trainer Charlie Longsdon believes there might be more to come from Pete The Feat despite his winning run coming to an end at Warwick on Saturday.

The nine-year-old had to settle for third place behind Rigadin De Beauchene in the Betfred Classic Chase after being raised a total of 40lb for winning five races in just three months.

"I'm delighted with him. I know he got beaten, but it was his best ever race to be honest," Longsdon told At The Races.

"He ran a great race, obviously it is gutting to be beaten, but he has done us proud.

"I hoped he might win a couple of races but not to go up 40lb and be so competitive in a big race like that.

"His enthusiasm probably got him beaten more than anything else.

"He wears his heart on his sleeve, he loves it and he tries so hard and you couldn't have any more of a fun horse."
