The Steve Gollings-trained Conquisto made an impressive debut over fences at Doncaster at the end of December and ran a fine race to chase home last season's Champion Hurdle runner-up back on Town Moor earlier this week.
Gollings acknowledges his charge has little chance of beating Overturn if he is at his best, but is happy to take him on again.
"I was absolutely delighted with him. He is a favourite in the yard as he's as tough and genuine a horse as I've ever had," said the trainer.
"We went into the race knowing we had no chance of beating Overturn if he stood up, but we wanted to get more practice into our horse and that's what we got.
"He was totally exhausted after the race as he tries so hard he gives himself a hard race and nearly two and half miles on that ground is pushing his boundaries a bit.
"He hasn't got much length and isn't very tall, but he is strong and what he lacks in scope, he makes up for in effort.
"We were a bit worried about running him on big tracks but Tony (McCoy) said he wouldn't mind riding him round any track in the country, which is encouraging.
"The next plan is to go back to Doncaster for the Lightning. I think Overturn is going there but we'll try again and coming back to two miles will be in our favour.
"We'll enter him for these races and just hope that one or two of the big boys don't turn up and things fall our way."
