Gary Moore hopes Fruity O'Rooney enjoys better luck when he returns to Doncaster for the Sky Bet Chase on January 26.

Fruity O'Rooney: Bidding for Sky Bet compensation

He finished third last season despite Jamie Moore's saddle slipping at the fourth last fence and has since performed with credit in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury and at Sandown earlier this month.

The trainer said: "Fruity O'Rooney is very much likely to run in the Sky Bet Chase. It's been so far, so good since with him since his run at Sandown at the weekend and I am very pleased with him.

"He bumped into a well-handicapped horse on Saturday and he is always better going left-handed but no damage was done. He got good money for being third and he was also dropped three pounds.

"He was unlucky not to win the Sky Bet last year and is one pound lower now. I think he has a good chance and he deserves a big one.

"He is an amazing little horse because he goes on any ground but I think he is better on better ground."
