Ian Mongan: Takes over in the saddle on Ellie In The Pink

Bet Of The Day: Ellie In The Pink 6.20 Kempton

Ellie In The Pink has halved in price since the betting opened and a big run is clearly expected on her return to the Sunbury on Thames track this evening.

The handicapper has had the upper hand since she reeled off a hat-trick in the late summer of 2011 but his grip has finally relented and she's now 4lbs below her last winning mark.

She has progressed with each of her three outings for Pat Phelan and she's taken to land the money dropped to a more suitable trip with Ian Mongan taking over in the saddle.

Long Shot: Bollin Fiona 1.50 Ayr

Bollin Fiona isn't the easiest to win with having struck just twice in 24 starts but Donald Whillans' mare should run a big race at a double figure price this afternoon.

Testing ground and a trip bring out the best in the daughter of Silver Patriarch who runs this track well and races from a winning mark.

She shaped well on her reappearance over an inadequate trip at Hexham and, with that run expected to bring her on and in receipt of weight from the majority of her rivals, she could spring a surprise.

Horse In Focus: Tap Night 1.20 Ayr

Tap Night is odds-on to make a winning debut over fences in this four runner contest having scrambled home in a soft ground handicap hurdle at this track last time.

Connections appeared to be favouring the handicap hurdle route for the six year old who had beaten Captain Conan at Kelso as a novice but he has since been purchased by JP McManus.

Tap Night is Lucinda Russell's first runner for the influential owner and she appears to have found the perfect opportunity to get their relationship off to a winning start.
