Noel Fehily: Rides the well-backed Gilbarry

Gilbarry 10/1 from 14/1 - 1.25 Sandown

Landed a Grade 2 Chase back 2011, but has had a torrid time since, ending up on the deck in two of his last four starts.

Returns to hurdles today off an attractive mark, and is expected to go well with Noel Fehily booked.

Constant Contact 9/1 from 11/1 (was 14/1 in places) - 2.45 Aintree

Handicapper has now given him a chance, and he comes here with plenty going for him. Donald McCain's charge shapes like a step up in trip will suit, and he already shown a liking for this ground in the past.

Blackstaff 10/1 from 14/1 (was 25/1 in places) - 3.20 Aintree

Despite being out of the handicap in the Grand Sefton, Mark Quinlan's mount does appeal as a lively outsider.

The 7 year old has shown fair form in points, and could run a big race on his first start for Nick Williams.

War Poet 2/1 from 5/2 - 2.20 Wetherby

An obvious favourite when assessing the race. David O'Meara's inmate could be feasibly handicapped over hurdles, and it's no surprise to see support for the gelding on his first start in handicaps.
