In one of the biggest surprises since Norton's Coin won the 1990 Cheltenham Gold Cup, sportinglife.com editor Dave Ord ran out a clear-cut winner of the Racing UK/Sky Bet charity tipping challenge.

The bearded scribe had the first winner on Thursday with African Gold and with market leaders Rolling Aces, Bobs Worth and Ulck Du Lin all obliging on Saturday, his safety first policy paid dividends.

Graham Cunningham and Lydia Hislop were the only two pundits in hailing distance by the final race but as Ord's favourite's first policy was rewarded again, the £500 charity cheque is heading to the New Beginnings racehorse retraining centre in Yorkshire.

However as he broke their drill and a stable door on a recent 'work experience' day at the charity, it seems Ord is still in deficit with the hardworking team up there.
