DOUBLE: Media Hype and Starfield
Media Hype can score a first Listed success in the Betdaq Casino Games Wild Flower Stakes at Kempton on Wednesday.
The five-year-old began the year on a perch of 70 but he has cut a swathe through the ranks and now sits on a lofty mark of 101 after some excellent efforts during the summer.
An initial win at Pontefract in April saw him start his climb through the ratings, with another victory at York in May advancing his case.
A fine third in the John Smith's Cup then prompted trainer Elaine Burke to raise his sights to Listed company in France and Group Three level in Sweden.
Media Hype was far from disgraced on either outing, running particularly well when third in the Stockholm Cup.
Given a bit of a break after that, Media Hype lost little in defeat when trying to make all in a similar event here at the start of the month.
He kept on well enough in fourth after his early exertions began to tell but that effort might just have sharpened him up a little for this event.
Rockalong can make it third-time lucky for trainer Luca Cumani in the Racing Plus - Every Saturday Median Auction Maiden Stakes.
He was well beaten on his belated debut at Nottingham in October but was a totally different proposition when switched to the all-weather at Lingfield.
The Rock Of Gibraltar colt made the well-regarded winner fight all the way that day and was eventually beaten two lengths, just losing out in the dying strides.
Rockalong is obviously no world-beater but should be good enough here.
Starfield can make an effortless switch from maiden company in the Dormansland Handicap at Lingfield.
A half-brother to Morawij, he is evidently not quite that class but his recent Wolverhampton maiden win marked him as a horse with some potential.
Starfield looked useful when second at Doncaster on his racecourse bow but a lacklustre effort when a hot favourite at Nottingham must have dented John Gosden's faith in this gelding.
He did not look totally straightforward on that occasion but there was little wrong with his recent Dunstall Park success and on a mark of 88, Gosden might have something to work with.
Polar Venture hails from a decent family and with his racecourse bow under his belt, he is fancied for the Betfred 'The Bonus King' Maiden Stakes.
He looked a bit green on his initial run but should settle much better now he knows what the game is about.
