The nine-year-old finished fifth in the Scottish National last season and made his seasonal reappearance at Cheltenham over hurdles where he weakened out of contention having chased the early leaders.
Nevertheless, Moore believes that he shouldn't be ruled out on a switch back to the larger obstacles.
The rider told At The Races: "He ran well for a long way off a high mark over hurdles.
"He's in great form and his work is good. 10st 5lb is a great weight to have in a big handicap.
"He goes on soft ground and should give a good bold show from the front."
Sky Bet currently rate him as a 25/1 chance for the showpiece contest with the Nicky Henderson trained Bobs Worth the clear 100/30 favourite.
