The six-year-old was a smart performer over hurdles and has made a seamless switch to fences, winning at Kempton on his debut before claiming second in a Cheltenham Grade Two last weekend.
Moore was more than satisfied in being beaten just two lengths by leading Arkle contender Captain Conan and could give Sire De Grugy a quick reappearance in the lingfieldpark.co.uk Novices' Chase as he builds up towards a Christmas assignment.
"He may run at Lingfield on Tuesday, just for a bit more experience, as with the weather you might not end up with as much experience as you'd like," he said.
"After that we'd be looking towards Kempton at Christmas for the Grade Two (Desert Orchid Chase) and then we'll see where we are.
"I was highly delighted with his run at Cheltenham. I knew when they both jumped the last well and together that he was going to get outstayed up the hill.
"I think he would prefer a flatter track and I thought the winner looked very good."
