Jet Away: Looks the best bet in the York feature

2pts win Jet Away in 15.10 York at 6/1 (General).

2pt win Dimenson in 14.35 York at best morning price.

Saturday's feature race is the Sky Bet York Stakes but while it features horses with Group One form, they haven't been performing well of late.

Planteur, Sri Putra and Wigmore Hall all have obvious claims on their best form but then again all were soundly beaten in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot last time.

Afsare is just about favourite but he had little to beat at Sandown. This looks tougher and I prefer Jet Away.

Sir Henry Cecil's charge is a course-and-distance winner and you have to forgive his latest defeat at Pontefract. That was run on bottomless ground and over a mile-and-a-half, a trip which I don't think he stays.

He had previously won his first two races this season at Ripon and Goodwood and he could offer a bit of value here.

I also like Dimension in the Handicap at 14.35.

He was a little unlucky in the Royal Hunt Cup in that he found himself racing away from the main action and I'm not sure a mile is his optimum trip either.

Back to seven furlongs here and with Tom Queally in the saddle, I take James Fanshawe's charge to continue his earlier progressive form and he rates as my other best bet of the day.
