Heaven's Guest: Fast ground would be worry in Betfred Mile

I’ve got to keep an eye on the weather for Heaven’s Guest in the Betfred Mile on Friday.

If it came up very fast I’d think about taking him out.

He’s had three quick runs and has never tried a mile before so it will be interesting to see if he gets it.

The way he stayed on at the end of the International last week certainly offers hope but sometimes horses want a really strongly-run seven furlongs rather than a step up in trip.

It’s a watching brief at the moment.

We’re double-handed in the Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Nursery.

George Bowen is a horse we really like for all that he was a little disappointing in the July Stakes.

He starts off in handicaps from 85 and if he is the colt we think he is, that could be very fair.

However, the assessor is seldom wrong.

Vimy Ridge did well to win a nursery at Thirsk last time.

He’s penalised in a better race here but Jack Garritty takes five pounds off which will help.
