Goodwood goal for Estimate
The Goodwood Cup remains the most likely next port of call for Estimate after she narrowly failed to defend her Royal Ascot crown last month.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained mare produced one of the biggest stories of the season last year when landing the Gold Cup in the colours of the Queen and was beaten just a neck by Leading Light on her second crack at the two-and-a-half-mile Group One.
The Queen's racing manager John Warren reports the five-year-old to have recovered from her Ascot exertions well and she now appears bound for a trip to the Sussex Downs on July 31.
Warren said: "She's really good. She came out of Ascot very well. I saw her earlier this week and she looked great.
"I think we're probably looking towards Goodwood with her, all being well.
"It was a shame we couldn't get a run into her before the Gold Cup. You are left wondering what might have been, but she ran a mighty race and we were so proud of her."
