After a successful Royal Ascot for punters and Ryan Moore, the former is trusting the latter to deliver again at Pontefract this afternoon.

Market Movers

2.10 Pontefract - Lacing 10/11 from 5/4 - Was favourite for hot maiden at Newmarket's Craven Meeting on debut and with that experience under her belt she's been backed this afternoon. In-form Ryan Moore takes the ride.

4.10 Pontefract - Teak 10/1 from 14/1 - Hasn't won for ages but recent signs are he's not far away and with cheekpieces back on he could go well in the marathon contest.

4.50 Worcester - Royale’s Charter 12/1 from 16/1 - Another one with cheekpieces applied, this time over hurdles at Worcester for Nick Williams and Brendan Powell.

5.10 Pontefract - Makin the Rules 2/1 from 3/1 - Third to Kickboxer at Ripon reads very well in this company and no surprises he's been backed on that formline alone.

Price Boosts

3.20 Worcester - Forever My Friend

3.40 Pontefract - Waila

4.00 Hexham - Imjoeking

4.45 Gowran Park - Port Merrion

Traders Tip

4.45 Gowran - Namurian Sunset

Several of the six runners that go to post in this handicap have questions to answer at present and the solid option looks to be the Paddy Prendergast-trained Namurian Sunset. Her recent third to Maggie Dalton at Limerick is the strongest form on offer, and whilst the unexposed Port Merrion is respected, it’s hard to see why Namurian Sunset is available to back at nearly twice the price. Her very best efforts have come on a sound surface, including when successful over this C&D, and the fact she faces little competition up front is a further positive. With the promising young rider Gary Phillips also taking off a handy 5 lb, we’re very hopeful of a big run this afternoon.
