Richard Fahey: Dusky danger
We have a pretty good record at York, but winning races at the Ebor meeting is never easy and I'll be happy enough to come away from the Knavesmire with a winner or two this week. The prize money is pretty good and the racing is very competitive.

I was at the sales in France last weekend and so able to watch Sandiva win at Deauville on Sunday. She has improved since Royal Ascot and if she improves as much again before her next race, the Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp on Arc weekend, she'll hopefully take some beating. I wouldn't be sure she'll get the trip but she's got a fantastic attitude and that will help her. She's having a bit of a break now.
Garswood missed the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury at the weekend and might go for the Park Stakes at Doncaster next. The race I have in mind for him is Prix de la Foret. If the ground was to come up soft there, that would suit him, and I'd love to get a Group One win for him. I still believe he is up to that level.
On Thursday we've two for the DBS Sales race that we won with Wootton Bassett three years ago, but both have a bit to find.
I don't know what went wrong with Rufford last time. Maybe he didn't like the turning track, or maybe it was the ground, but whatever the cause he came back a bit jarred up and has needed the time off since. Even if he's back to his best, he looks to have a bit to find at the ratings, but he is working really well and could yet surprise.
Foxy Clarets has even more to do at the weights and if he runs into a bit of prize money that would be a great result. He's a horse who we have been playing catch-up with because he got very sore shins in the spring and it's been a bit of a rush job but he put his head down to win at Newcastle last time.
We had to drop Brae Hill to a claimer to win last time, but he did it easily enough. Whether that entitles him to have even a chance in a £75,000 handicap you'd have to have your doubts. He tends to go best when he's fresh in the spring but he's surprised us before. No doubt he'll decide for himself.
Eastern Destiny goes for some black type in the EBF Galtres Stakes. This could be her last race before she goes to the breeding sheds and it would be lovely to think she could get into the frame, although she looks to have a bit to find.
Finally, there's Dusky Queen in the finale and I hope she's got an each-way chance at the least. She's running well and I could see this big field suiting her. But as I keep saying, there aren't any easy races this week!
