Ben Linfoot selects a bet of the day, a longshot, a double to consider and couple of Noel Fehily mounts in today's preview.

Fehily:Two good rides at Plumpton

Bet Of The Day: Owner Occupier 1.40 Plumpton

Did Tom Cannon ask for an effort from Owner Occupier too soon last time at Fontwell? I think so. Judge for yourself by watching the video here. I think we can deduce from the race that he's better than the bare form of that 18-length defeat, and, sliding down the weights to a chase rating of 91 now could be the time to catch him. He hasn't raced off a rating this low since he won a novices' handicap at Towcester in 2010 while he won off 100 at Sandown in 2011. His losing run stretches back to then, a sequence of 15 defeats, but today's Timeform Jury Handicap Chase represents an excellent chance for him to get back in the winners' enclosure.

Doubling Up: Valdez (1.10 Plumpton & Too Generous 2.40 Plumpton)

A quiet day's action but two big stables unleash well-fancied horses at Plumpton and they'll be the cornerstone of many a multiple today. Alan King's Valdez carries a penalty in the opener as he's the only horse in the race to have won over timber. He was beaten by subsequent Grade 1 winner Melodic Rendezvous last time and on his win at Huntingdon alone he should be good enough to win today. Later on, in the 2.40, David Pipe saddles Too Generous who hosed up at Fontwell on Boxing Day. She looks a class above her three rivals today on that form and if she jumps as well as she did last time they won't get near her.

Today's Longshot: Lexis Beauty 2.20 Wolverhampton

Dr Marwan Koukash has six runners on today's card at Wolverhampton and his least-fancied horse of the lot shouldn't be too easily discarded in the 2.20. She's only had eight starts, admittedly only hitting the frame once when third in a six-runner contest last time but that three-and-a-half length defeat doesn't read too badly in the context of this race. With Jamie Spencer in the saddle for the first time and the step up in distance likely to help her prices as big as 16/1 should be considered.

Jockey In Focus: Noel Fehily at Plumpton

Noel Fehily has two great chances at Plumpton today with No No Bingo (3.10) and Overdante (4.10) worth considering. No No Bingo did really well to out-battle Ballywatt at Hereford last time as his rival travelled much the better but didn't find anywhere near as much off the bridle. Ballywatt has run well since and a 7lb rise may not stop No No Bingo who could get the better of serial runner-up Midnight Sail. Meanwhile, Overdante looks to have solid claims on her soft ground form last April and as she goes well fresh there's every chance she can deny course specialist Little Roxy with Fehily in the saddle.
