Khalid Abdullah's brilliant and unbeaten colt is officially the highest rated horse in the world and the weekend workout is part of his preparation for the QIPCO Champions Stakes after Sir Henry Cecil decided against taking him to France.
Lord Grimthorpe, racing manager to the owner, told Racing UK: "Henry wanted to give him a racecourse gallop. We'd discussed the Moulin as a possible race but on this occasion Henry felt it was a little bit too soon for where he wanted to be to get him to Ascot in the best possible shape. This racecourse gallop seemed to be a good opportunity and Newmarket have been very helpful.
"We're going to try and make it to all intents and purposes like race conditions although whether Frankel is going to be fooled by that is another matter! He will go through all the correct motions i.e. be saddled, take a turn in the paddock, go down and have a good work out over probably just under a mile."
- Racing UK will be showing Frankel's gallop live as part of their free-to-air Mark Your Card programme on Saturday.
