Hills have again cut Alberto Giacometti for Saturday's Vodafone Derby.
He is now 8/1 clear fourth favourite for Saturday's race (from 10/1) with the Leeds-based firm who also report plenty of interest in Shield at 20/1.
Both Hill's and Ladbrokes report substantial doubles involving the Classic.
A Ladbrokes telephone punter on Monday staked £10,000 each-way on a bold Classic double.
"Our customer has backed Alamshar at 4/1 and Hi Dubai at 7/2 to win
£225,000," said Balthazar Fabricius of Ladbrokes. "Alamshar is now 7/2 and
it is refreshing to see some money coming for something other than an
O'Brien trained horse."
An even more ambitious Hills punter placed a £10 bet to win a cool £1.25million on this Saturdays Vodafone Derby and the William Hill Greyhound Derby.
The shop punter, backed 500/1 chance Skelligs Rock in the Epsom Derby and 200/1 Skelligs Mick to win the Final of William Hill Greyhound Derby on June 28th.
"It's an intriguing bet to have," said Hills spokesman David Hood "Skelligs Rock is a small cluster of rocks off the South-West coast of Ireland, made up of Skelligs Michael, Small Skelligs and Puffin Ireland. Given the recent Irish stranglehold on the Epsom Classic, the punter obviously believes their luck will hold, for at least another year. I imagine the punter must come from area, but If these two win, he will be able to buy the rocks!"
Coral have cut Brian Boru to 5/2 from 11/4 following continued support. The same
firm eased Refuse To Bend to 4/1 from 7/2 having not seen a penny for the Dermot
Weld runner for over a week.
"Coral has a huge ante-post position on Brian Boru which is largely a legacy
from Cheltenham as he is the last leg in hundreds of multiple bets," said Coral
spokesman Simon Clare.
Elsewhere Bet 365 have issued a series of special bets for the Vodafone Derby. They include:
6/4 Aidan O'Brien to train the winner
10/1 O'Brien to train first and second.
5/1 A supplemented horse (Dutch Gold, Kris Kin, Norse Dancer) to win the Derby.
