It was only two days ago but I still miss the Cheltenham Countdown event.
The update from the racecourse team about ticket sales, ground conditions et al was very useful, the publication of the handicap weights informative, the game pie magnificent.
It tricked me too. It looked like a pork pie, felt like one, but oh my, didn't taste like one.
You had the choice between a hot and cold buffet but with the vast majority going for the former, I sensed a chance.
The cold platter of choice cooked meats shone in the early afternoon sunlight. I ground to a halt at the pie.
Two slices was my initial effort, when a third was acquired the serving lady commented on my keenness for her products.
It was only when it was pointed out I was in danger of contract miximetosis that I realised it wasn't a pork pie and my consumption of it was the talk of the room.
For a while though I didn't care. I was preparing for a game festival, working out what I could eat over the four nights to ensure my new refined palate was satisfied.
However that's all changed.
Driving home my search for some music on the radio ended when I stumbled across a station playing Johnny Logan's Eurovision classic Hold Me Now.
I was in heaven.
Sadly the very next song was Bright Eyes by Art Garfunkel. I nearly had to pull over in Michael Wood Services. What had I done?
It was then I realised the station that had kept me entertained for three junctions of the M5 was Smooth Radio. I liked it.
Upon entering my hotel in Taunton a quick google search revealed my new radio home had replaced "Saga FM" last year and was targeting the more mature listener.
This year I'm making my Glastonbury debut.
All I can hope is Smooth FM have their own tent, with plenty of seating and toilet facilities to boot.
A slab of game pie in additon would be the icing on the cake.
