Few Cheltenham-bound horses have divided opinions among racing fans as much as Jonjo O'Neill's Black Jack Ketchum in the build-up to the Festival.

Having traded at around 5-6 on Betfair for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle earlier in the season, the eight-year-old eased considerably in the market when his unbeaten record went up in smoke in the Cleeve Hurdle.

And as doubts regarding his participation in the upcoming Prestbury Park feature grew due to the inclement weather, many people's banker of the meeting was backed at 12-1 on Tuesday.

Such an elevated price was evidently too much for value-seekers to miss, however, as a flood of cash now sees Black Jack Ketchum vying for favouritism with Inglis Drever again.

Although little money was traded at 12-1, serious sums were matched at up to 8-1, leaving many in a strong position ahead of next week's staying championship with milder weather forecast.

"It appears that Black Jack's supporters are finally beginning to show their hand," said Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin.

"He could well be outright favourite again by the end of the day."
