4pts Moscow Flyer at best Wednesday morning price (3.15 Cheltenham) |
Unbeaten when completing and form pick on Tingle Creek triumph. |
 |
2pts Comply Or Die at best Wednesday morning price (2.35 Cheltenham) |
Looks ideal sort for the race in that he is a sound jumper who stays well. |
 |
2pts Royal Paradise at best Wednesday morning price (2.00 Cheltenham) |
Solid form at two miles and should be even better for this extra distance. |
Moscow Flyer is favourite for the Queen Mother Champion Chase and is still unbeaten every time he has completed the course over fences which is an extraordinary record. He is still inclined to make the odd mistake as we saw in this race last year when he unshipped Barry Gerraghty at the final open ditch. However the clinching piece of form this year was in the Tingle Creek Chase when he was too good for Azertyuiop and Well Chief. It was a tremendous tussle and suggests there won't be much between the three again but we must stick with Moscow Flyer. This race is always run at a blistering pace and I would expect to see positive tactics aboard Azertyuiop. He ran well over three miles in the King George on Boxing Day and clearly gets further than two miles but a strong pace suits Moscow Flyer well. Well Chief was soundly beaten by Azertyuiop last time but I just wonder if he was feeling the effects of his performance in defying a big weight in the Victor Chandler Chase. That was a mighty effort on the ratings and he didn't jump as well as he can in the Game Spirit. He ran on gamely there though and is very tenacious. Oneway has an enormous task at the weights and has two stone to find with the principals despite his remarkable progress this term. Elsewhere on the card, Comply or Die is an ideal type for the Royal & SunAlliance Chase and is normally a very sound jumper. I like Royal Paradise in the Royal & SunAlliance Novices' Hurdle and it would be wonderful for Tom Foley if he could win while Fountain Hill should be thereabouts in the Coral Cup.
