Picture Trabolgan - sure to be more big races in him.

RIVER LOOKS PRIMED FOR REPEAT

By Dave Ord

2.00: A gritty staying performance from No Refuge who made relentless headway from the second last to overhaul Racing Demon in the closing stages.

Stamina is clearly his forte and he can improve again when upped in trip next term.

The runner-up is a great long-term chasing prospect and picked up well from the home turn to look all over the winner.

Our Ben is another with a big future over fences having finished third but there seemed to be no excuses for favourite Gold Medallist or market rival Royal Paradise.

The James Fanshawe pair of Pole Star and Reveillez ran well, the latter travelling noticeably strongly for a long way.

2.35 Trabolgan defied negative market vibes and a mistake at the second last to win well and he is an exciting long-term prospect.

It was impressive how quickly he was back on an even keel following his blunder and connections have a lot to look forward to.

Comply Or Die ran well in second, jumping fluently and running on strongly once headed. He is one to keep on your side.

Cornish Rebel has his quirks but possesses plenty of ability and he took third from L'Ami in the dying strides.

Like-A-Butterfly travelled supremely well for much of the race but didn't get home.

She clearly retains all her ability though and would be interesting at another spring festival when dropped in trip.

3.15 Moscow Flyer confirmed himself the best two-mile chaser in training with an authoritative win.

He needed to be driven out to fend off Well Chief but ran almost to the pound of his form in the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown.

He is remarkably consistent and a credit to connections.

The runner-up must be a champion in waiting given this encouraging run. He never gave up the chase all the way to the line and has made remarkable progress in his second season over fences.

Azertyuiop lost all chance with a terrible mistake at the water jump.

He still came home in third but was never competitive. There are other days for him.

Oneway has made staggering improvement all year and his fourth place was a career best.

His handicap mark won't have been helped by it though and he may now be difficult to place.

4.00: Idole First was a runaway winner here although his handicap mark will suffer as a result.

He challenged going to the last and was far too strong from that point.

Dancing Bay ran a solid race in second, going well after the second last and staying on up the hill.

He is relatively unexposed over hurdles and can progress again.

Tumbling Dice ran well in third while Covent Garden and After Eight shaped as though they have a decent prize in them.

4.40: A great race for Nicky Henderson with Juveigneur confirming the promise of his first two starts in Britain.

He stayed on strongly for pressure and showed a good attitude. There are more races to be won with him.

Stablemate Lord Of The River was back to his best here and made most of the running. He could be interesting in the three-mile handicap chase he won at Aintree last year.

Parsons Legacy ran a solid race in third while Persian Waters defied his inexperience and big weight. There are more races to be won with him.

5.20: The gamble was landed but Missed That had to work hard up the hill to land the spoils. He is held in very high regard and is going places.

De Soto finished best of all in second and this was a huge improvement on his debut effort.

Rasharrow also emerges with huge credit in third and is another with a bright fututre.

Refinement emptied at the bottom of the hill but this was a stronger renewal than the one she finished second in last year.

Karanja's mishap at the start robbed the race of some interest - as did the horrific fall of The Mick Weston.
