Well Chief is totesport's 2006 Champion Chase favourite despite losing out to the brilliant Moscow Flyer in this season's race.

Spokesman Damian Walker said: "Moscow Flyer defied the stats as an 11-year-old - becoming the first of that age group to win the race since Skymass in 1997.

"It's being ageist but Moscow Flyer must defy the statistics again next year if he is to win as a 12-year-old. Well Chief will be seven next year and approaching his peak so we make him marginal favourite."
