Well Chief was the horse in huge demand for next month's Cheltenham Festival with Coral reporting several four figure bets.

As liabilities crashed through the six-figure mark, Coral reacted by cutting Well Chief to 9-4 from 11-4 for the Queen Mother Champion Chase, just behind the 7-4 favourite Azertyuiop, and the 2-1 second favourite Moscow Flyer.

"Every bet we have struck on the Champion Chase since Saturday has been on Well Chief, while Azertyuiop and Moscow Flyer have remained completely friendless", said Coral spokesman Simon Clare.

Well Chief advertised his Festival claims last Saturday when an impressive winner of the Victor Chandler Chase at Cheltenham under top weight.
