The Irish ended day two at Cheltenham on a winning note when Total Enjoyment took the
Weatherbys Champion Bumper in the hands of Jim Culloty.
Culloty, who partners hot favourite Best Mate in Thursday's totesport Gold
Cup, sent Total Enjoyment clear of her rivals on the turn for home to strike for
trainer Thomas Cooper.
The five-year-old (7-1) stormed up the hill to win from Refinement, also 7-1,
with 50-1 outsider Master Albert third.
Cooper, who has held a licence since 1998 and is based in Tralee, said: "I knew
she was good from an early age. When she gets on the track she just comes alive.
She is so focused. I've had some good horses, but nothing like this. That will
be it for the season."
Amateur Derek O'Connor was concussed and was being assessed by the medical team
after his mount Blazing Liss clipped heels with another horse and came down
about five furlongs out.
In a separate incident David Casey escaped injury when Granny Kellys Tart
cocked his jaw and crashed through the rails and unseated the jockey.
The stewards inquired into both incidents and were satisfied there was no-one
to blame.
