On form simply the best ten furlong dirt horse in the world.
At the age of six and heading for retirement, he seems better than ever in 2004 having added the Dubai World Cup and Pacific Classic to his win in this race last year.
Tough and with the form to win this, Pleasantly Perfect is bidding to emulate Tiznow, the last back-to-back winner of the Classic.
Steven Crist says:
"I think he has a good chance of winning the Classic again. There was some concern - as there always is when our horses go over to Dubai - as to whether he could come back to his best form.
"His last race was quite good at Del Mark and while he comes in off a longer break than last year, he has run well off a freshening before. He is the defending champion and is a true mile-and-a-quarter horse which a couple of his rivals may not be."
