Scotland were thrashed 8-0 by home side New Zealand at the men's World Cup qualifying event in Invercargill.
After threatening a shock on Saturday when they took the lead against China but went on to lose 2-1, the Scots found the Black Sticks far too strong and were 3-0 behind by half-time.
New Zealand were unrelenting in their pressure and added five further goals in the second half, to follow up their 6-2 win over Wales with another big victory.
Teenage striker Nick Wilson hit four second-half goals, captain Phil Burrows scored twice, and there were also strikes from Simon Child and Hugo Inglis.
Wales were also beaten on day two of the qualifying competition, with Abdul Jalil Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin scoring twice in the first half as Malaysia claimed a 2-1 win. Richard Gay replied for Wales from a penalty corner after the interval but an equaliser was beyond them.
