Pinturault takes plaudits
Alexis Pinturault produced a fine second run to improve from sixth place and win a World Cup slalom race at Val d'Isere.

The 21-year-old Frenchman captured the second event of his career in front of his home fans by holding off the challenge of defending champion Marcel Hirscher of Austria.
Pinturault produced a combined time of one minute and 36.55 seconds, 0.50 seconds quicker than Germany's Felix Neureuther, with Hirscher a further 0.07secs behind in third.
Sweden's Andre Myhrer improved from 12th after the first run to finish fourth.
