Flemenstar is now the favourite for the Ryanair Chase - another option at March's Cheltenham Festival - but trainer Casey confirmed that the Gold Cup was "still the plan long term".
Casey said: "I'm delighted with that, and he's still not ready!
''He'll go to Leopardstown at Christmas and will get three miles. I've never had any doubt about him getting three miles.
''We'll have to see how he comes out of this race first. He'll be entered for the Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase as well as the Lexus.
''I don't want to get to the bottom of him at this stage and, if we feel it's best for the horse, he could go for the two-mile race at Christmas.
''The Gold Cup is still the plan long term.''
Boylesports offer 6/1 in the Ryanair market, although that would appear unlikely to last long with other firms now as short as 4s.
William Hill spokesman Richard Thomas, whose firm offer 5/1 about Flemenstar winning any race at the Festival in March, said: "That was a tremendous performance by Flemenstar. He has tremendous scope and enjoyed himself out in front.
"Sir Des Champs will improve for that run, and as he has already won twice at the Festival, we are happy to keep at 5/1 for the Gold Cup."
Elsewhere on Sunday, Road To Riches was a winner and was duly cut for glory at the Festival.
Road To Riches is 25/1 for the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle after maintaining his unbeaten record at Cork.

The Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle is another possible option and in that market William Hill go 20/1. Sky Bet's 25/1 quote is now into 16s with bet365 at 14/1.
Days Hotel was a winner on the same card and was duly cut from 20/1 to 14s for the Ryanair by Stan James.
