The result stretched the R's winless start to the season to 14 games.
The match marked Harry Redknapp's return to management and it's even money that the former Tottenham manager's first win comes against Aston Villa this Saturday.
After Villa, QPR then play Wigan (A), Fulham (H), Newcastle (A), West Brom (H) and Liverpool (H) before the end of the year.
"The introduction of Redknapp at Loftus Road looks to have given QPR that much-needed boost and if the Hoops can continue to play with that same level of belief, that first win won't be far away," said Coral's Tim Reynolds.
William Hill offer a best of 5/6 about QPR being relegated, while they can be backed at 6/5 with BetVictor to stay up.
Sunderland are now just two points outside the drop zone with Hill's offering a top price of 6/1 about the Black Cats being relegated.
Coral spokesman Tim Reynolds, whose firm go just 4/1, said: "Sunderland have now only won one of their last nine matches in all competitions and unless the Black Cats start winning games soon, Martin O'Neill could soon find himself under the spotlight."
O'Neill is a best of 11/8 with Ladbrokes to be the next Premier League manager to go.
Brian McDermott and Roberto Mancini are next in the market on best price - both can be backed at 8/1 - with Nigel Adkins now offered at 9/1 by Sky Bet following Southampton's recent upturn in form.
