Flemenstar has been cut for the Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup after he made a winning return to action at Navan.

Flemenstar: Made an impressive return to the track

Peter Casey's seven-year-old had been off the track for 217 days prior to his run in the Irish Form Book Fortria Chase but there were no signs of rustiness as he stormed to a comfortable success, extending his winning run to six races in the process.

Sky Bet, Ladbrokes, Coral and BetVictor reacted by cutting him to 7/1 for the Gold Cup, leaving Stan James as the standout firm at 10s. The sponsors made him a 9/1 chance, with most other firms offering 8/1.

With Sunday's reappearance run coming over two miles, Flemenstar was also cut for the two-and-a-half mile Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, with Sky Bet among those making him their 5/1 favourite.

Earlier on the card, Our Conor impressed in making a winning debut over hurdles to earn quotes of 20/1 for the Triumph Hurdle with Stan James and Sky Bet.

Sizing Rio made it two wins from as many starts over timber in the 'For Auction' Novice Hurdle and he's generally 25/1 for the Supreme Novice Hurdle as a result.

However, there wasn't such good news for favourite backers in the Grade Two Lismullen Hurdle, where 1/7 favourite Voler La Vedette could only manage second on her return to action.

BetVictor eased Colm Murphy's star mare to 14/1 for the David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle, a price which stands out in the market.
