Everton remain outsiders in a season-long Premier League match bet against arch rivals Liverpool, according to Sky Bet.

Everton: Moved up to second in the Premier League

The Toffees have made a strong start to the season with Saturday's impressive 3-0 win at Swansea taking the traditional slow starters to 10 points from their first five games.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have yet to win and sit on two points from four games ahead of Sunday's home clash with Manchester United.

Everton finished above Liverpool for only the second time in 25 years last season and despite their current form, the Leeds-based firm believe Liverpool will still prevail.

They go 4/6 about Liverpool (from 4/7) and offer Everton at 11/10.

Sky Bet's Paul Lowery said: "We still make Liverpool favourites but Everton are much shorter in the market than they were at the start of the season.

"They've been notorious for punching above their weight but the balance of power may be shifting on Merseyside."

While Sky Bet are just about sticking with the Reds, other firms appear to favour Everton now.

David Moyes' men are now more likely to finish in the Premier League's top four, according to bet365 and Betfred.

Both firms have Everton at 5/1 and Liverpool at 11/2. Ladbrokes are still prepared to take Everton, who are currently second in the table, on and dangle 8/1.

In the title race betting, leaders Chelsea shortened after scraping a 1-0 win over Stoke.

A late Ashley Cole goal gave them victory and took them three points clear at the summit ahead of Sunday's big games involving their main rivals.

Several firms cut them to 7/2, but 4/1 is still generally available.

Manchester City, who host Arsenal on Sunday, remain 13/8 favourites.
