Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie should produce

1.5pts over 2.5 goals Everton v Manchester United at evens (General).

0.5pt Manchester United to score four or more goals at 10/1 (William Hill).

Everton v Manchester United

A fascinating fixture to round-off the first weekend of Premier League action and one which will see United start as warm favourites.

Formerly a very happy hunting ground for the Red Devils, Goodison Park hasn't been so kind to them of late although a solitary Javier Hernandez goal was good enough to secure the points last season.

Everton, meanwhile, came from 4-2 down to snatch a point at Old Trafford when last the sides met and, having avoided defeat in three of their last four Premier League encounters with United at home, have reason to be confident.

The trouble is, United are at their most dangerous when wounded and will be eager to start this season with a bang, while Everton have lost their first game in each of the last four seasons.

With Robin van Persie set to start alongside Wayne Rooney and Shinji Kagawa in to add creativity to the midfield, this is a strong United side that looks capable of scoring plenty, and that's where we'll look to profit from this game.

In 20 renewals of this fixture since the start of the Premier League, United have scored four goals on three occasions. Twice in the last eight seasons, Everton have conceded four or more in their opening fixture, and 10/1 about United scoring four or more looks a few points too big.

We'll back that, and also take evens about over 2.5 goals with Everton's front-line now more than capable of contributing to what should be an entertaining game.

Verdict: Everton 1 Manchester United 4
