Following his Olympic triumph the bookies wasted no time in cutting his chances to win his maiden major at the end of the month at the US Open to 7/2 from 5/1.
And his chances of picking up his first Wimbledon title in 2013 have consequently been cut to 9/2 (from 11/2).
The Brit began the gold medal match as the 5/4 outsider but after dominating Federer from the off his odds were cut to 1/200 in-play and patriotic punters were still staking money on Murray to take home gold.
Murray's now the joint second favourite with Jessica Ennis at 7/1 to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "Murray's finally defied the odds and broke the SW19 curse. We're anticipating this will kick-off his hunt for a major and patriotic punters are already piling into his chances of doing so in America."
Bet365 trimmed Murray to win a Wimbledon men's singles title by the start of 2020 from 11/8 into even money after his convincing victory over Federer.
"This could be the springboard for Murray to end his Grand Slam wait," said spokesman Steve Freeth.
Coral have also cut his price for winning the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award to 5/1 from 10/1.
