Froome wins Velo d'Or award
Tour de France champion Chris Froome has won the Velo d'Or award as the best rider of 2013.

Team Sky confirmed Froome had won the award picked up by his team-mate Sir Bradley Wiggins 12 months previously, when he became the first Briton to win it.
beat the likes of Giro d'Italia winner Vincenzo Nibali and the number one-ranked rider Joaquim Rodriguez to take the award, which is based on a poll of cycling journalists.
In addition to his Tour victory, Froome won the Criterium du Dauphine and Tour de Romandie in a dominant start to the season.
The 23-year-old Colombian Nairio Quintana, who finished second in the Tour and was named King of the Mountains and best young rider, was voted prospect of the year.
