Wimbledon the ace call on Saturday

Morecambe have more to do to convince our Nick Hext that they're back on track and he's backing against them with AFC Wimbledon this weekend.

AFC Wimbledon: Backed to win at Morecambe

A familiar theme returns for this weekend's League Two tip as Morecambe are backed to lose at home.

AFC Wimbledon are the side making the journey to the Globe Arena on Saturday and the 3/1 for the away win should be taken.

The Dons do have plenty of injury problems but there have been positive signs since Neal Ardley took over as manager and their recent away record is decent.

They have won three - against Wycombe, York and Plymouth - drawn one and lost two of their previous six league away games so are more than capable of picking up the three points from the long trip north.

As mentioned, Ardley does have to contend with some injury problems and Tuesday night's 4-0 defeat against Southend will have hurt but there is still enough to like about the Kingsmeadow side.

Byron Harrison and Jack Midson provide a big threat in attack and the addition of veteran goalkeeper Neil Sullivan should provide some more security to a young and developing squad.

Morecambe's home form has picked up with two wins and two draws but I'm not convinced the Globe Arena travails are solved forever.

The Shrimps' home record stood at just one win in 11 games prior to that run so more is needed to deliver a feeling of security at the club.

AFC Wimbledon's price is appealing so take a piece of it.
