Like the nearby Olympic Stadium, the velodrome also boasts a roof designed by
Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and has been renovated to hold over 5,000
spectators for the Games.
The 250m track, made of afzelia hard wood, is banked
42 degrees on the bends and 12 degrees on the straight.
