The Games return to their spiritual home in ancient Olympia, 200 miles from
Athens, with the final of the men's and women's shot-putt to be held in the
historic stadium.
To preserve the site there will be no temporary structures or grandstands, no
electronic boards or artificial lighting. Only movable throwing circles will be
placed in the stadium.
Olympia was the site of the ancient Olympic Games until 393 BC.
Visitors can walk through the ruins of the Temple of Zeus.
