Both the British men and the women qualified for Saturday night's finals of the
4x100m medley relay in Athens.
The quartet of Sarah Price, Kirsty Balfour, Georgina Lee and Melanie Marshall
qualified fourth fastest by finishing second in their heat in a time of 4:05.63,
albeit more than four seconds adrift of winners Australia, who look set to
battle it out with the United States for gold.
"I think there is definitely more to come from the team in the final," said
Lee.
"If you put four girls as tough and strong and excited as we are into an
Olympic final, you are going to pull that extra thing out of the bag."
Gregor Tait, James Gibson, James Hickman and Matt Kidd then finished third in
their heat and third fastest overall in a time of 3:36.94, behind the United
States and Germany.
"It was an unbelievable swim," said Kidd. "We knew the boys had to get up
this morning.
"They didn't have quite as good individual events as they were hoping for but
they pulled it together this morning. We did it for the team."
