Known by cricket fans around the world as the 'Gabba', courtesy of the suburb it resides in, Test Cricket was first played at the Brisbane Cricket Ground in 1931 when Australia played South Africa.

The Queenslands Bulls cricket team plays here and the Gabba is also the home of Australian rules football side the Brisbane Lions.
