The 300 metre U-shaped course has been designed to enable spectators to catch the Olympic action along the entire length.

The competition channel is between eight and 12 metres wide and the vertical drop, from start to finish, is a hairy 5.5 metres. A conveyor belt will take canoes and kayaks from the finish pool back to the start.

Water flow is controlled so that the public can enjoy a safe but thrilling whitewater experience.
