Russia's Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Germany's Tommy Haas secured their places in the men's singles final after winning semi-final matches against Arnaud Di Pasquale and Roger Federer, respectively.

Kafelnikov was never really threatened by the Frenchman, needing only 78 minutes to complete a straight sets 6-4 6-4 win.

And Haas took barely over an hour to crush the young Swiss star 6-3 6-2.

In the women's doubles event, Venus and Serena Williams continued their march towards another United States gold as they beat the Belgian pair of Dominique van Roost and Els Callens 6-4 6-1 to reach the final.
