FERRERO CRUSHED IN QUARTERS
There was a shock in the men's singles as France's Arnaud di Pasquale continued his giantkilling
run to become the first man to reach the semi-finals.
Di Pasquale, ranked 78th in the world, had already defeated ninth seed Nicolas
Kiefer of Germany and Sweden's Magnus Norman, the number three seed and on Monday he
thrashed Spanish eighth seed Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-2 6-1.
"If I could play like that every match I would not have my current ranking,"
Di Pasquale said.
The 21-year-old now faces either Gustavo Kuerten or Yevgeny Kafelnikov - the
only two seeds left in the tournament - for a place in the final.
