Showjumper Di Lampard, known as having nerves of steel, spoke on Wednesday of her devastation at being left out of the British Olympic team.

Lampard had geared her preparation towards Sydney and was widely expected to make the team with Abbervail Dream.

"I don't understand how I deserve this. Words cannot express how I feel, I'm gutted," said Lampard, who got over a thigh injury to finish second at last weekend's Traxdata Royal International at Hickstead.
