Mary King and Star Appeal, winners of the Mitsubishi Motors Trophy at Badminton a month ago, have joined the 1999 European Championship gold medal team as the horse trials selectors' top choice to go for gold in Sydney.

Now a mother of two, King is heading for her third Olympics and as she demonstrated at Badminton is riding better than ever.

The European individual Champions Pippa Funnell and Supreme Rock are also right on form as they proved when scoring at Chatsworth in the one day International.

They will form the nucleus of the squad with European team-mates Ian Stark on Jaybee, Tina Gifford on The Gangster and Jeanette Brakewell on Over To You.
