BRITISH TRIO MISS MEDAL ZONE

Britain's individual Three-Day Event trio of Mary Kelly, Karen Dixon and Ian
Stark could not force their way among the medals in the showjumping phase.
King, riding Star Appeal, finished seventh, on 52 points - 10 points adrift of
bronze medallist Mark Todd, who claimed New Zealand's first medal of the Games
on Eyespy II.
David O'Connor, of the USA, riding Custom Made, took the gold on 34 points.
Australia's Andrew Hoy won silver on Swizzle In with 39.80 points.
Ian Stark, at 46 riding in his fifth and final Olympic Games, finished 10th on
Arakai, with 56 points.
Dixon, riding Too Smart, was 11th with 60.40 points.
King, Dixon and Stark had been eighth, ninth and 10th respectively after
Thursday's cross country phase.
King and Stark each had one fence down and Dixon had two fences down.
Ireland's Austin O'Connor and Trevor Smith, riding Fabio and High Scope
respectively, finished 17th and 18th with 97 points and 101.80 points.
